At the moment I was struggling with the terms of "Epistemology". What a nightmare. I remember the first time when I heard about the term, it was five years ago during the my research method class. I still remember Prof. gave us the note about epistemology, when we just started our degree. I remember we had a week to prepare and understand the topic, but when the day came, everyone was so depressed. At that time, no one really understood what epistemology means. 
After five years, this term just came back to me. The nightmare is back. This time is not only epistemology, but also involves much deeper theoretical terms. I think.... I'm going to stay in the hell for quite a long time. 

Following stances are defined by Crotty, M (1998):
Epistemology is about "the theory of knowledge embedded in the theoretical perspective and thereby in the methodology" (Crotty, 1998:3).

Epistemology involves "knowledge, and embodies a certain understand ofwhat is entailed in knowing, that is how we know what we know" (Crotty, 1998:8).
